Switzerland: Apply res. permit together for self and spouse

Post by rpchandran » Sun Mar 25, 2012 3:01 pm

Hi All,

My company has offered me an opportunity to work in Switzerland. I am an Indian citizen and do not hold any residence permit in Switzerland. Is it possible for me and my wife to apply for the visa at the same time? Or, is it absolutely required that I go to Switzerland and then apply for my wife's visa?

Thanks,
Pradeep

Switzerland: Apply res. permit together for self and spouse

Hi,

Thanks for a fast response. I had in fact looked at the post mentioned. But, it points to http://www.bfm.admin.ch/bfm/en/home.html

From the BFM site (and all the others that I have looked at), it is not clear if the application for the visa for the dependent spouse can be submitted along with that of the spouse who is applying for residence permit.

Also, on the BFM site, the FAQ for Family reunion is not available in English.

Thanks,
Pradeep

That's a pity. Why don't you email the Swiss embassy tomorrow with your questions?
