PIO Card in Hyderabad,India

Post by smatt » Sun Mar 25, 2012 10:46 pm

Dear Members,

I want to apply for PIO card for my minor daughter (<1 year) born in London and both the parents are holding Indian Passports with UK settlement visa.

I am planning to go India with my daughter (British Citizen) on 6 months Tourist visa.

How long it takes for the process and do they retain the documents.

What are the documents required and fee?

Kindly let me know the details.

Kind Regards

PIO application for minor takes around 4 weeks and costs you £112. I've applied for my 1 yr old on 13th March at HCI London and the collection date given to me is 10th April. They retain just copy of child's passport and birth certificate, didnt even ask me for originals. It's pretty straight-forward if you apply at HCI London. The only hard bit is to get there early morning for a token.

I haven't collected mine yet, but don't think you need passport to collect, they asked me to bring the slip when coming to collect.

Collected the PIO card today from HCI valid 15 years. They asked for the baby's passport for proof. Don't think you will need it if sent by post though.
