If I'm eligible to apply for a Tier2 visa under a PSW !!!

Post by zhimama » Mon Mar 26, 2012 2:29 pm

I'm currently a PSW (Tier1) holder. I graduated in October 2010, and started to work in one of major visual effects companies in London. I've been doing full-time based contract jobs since February 2011. My PSW visa will be expired in December 2012.

My question is shown below:
If I am eligible to apply for a tier 2 visa in December of this year under the newly changed immigration policy after April 2012. The thing is that my company is qualified for sponsor visa but they only do it for senior level guys. I'm so far only a junior level employee. However, as a contract employee, I'm working in this company (not continuous but based on projects) nearly a year ( all dates added based on those dates shown on reference letters I've received from this company every time) since February 2011. So, I'm thinking of applying for a new visa from PSW(my current visa type) to Tier 2 without company's sponsor visa supporting.
I'm wondering if someone could give me an accurate answer in my case.

Many thanks,

you can't apply for tier 2 unless you are sponsored by an employer on the list of tier 2 sponsors.

What do you mean I am sponsored by my employer? Do you mean the company needs to provide a letter which shows they are willing to support my visa application? Or, just showing I'm currently working for them.

There are no detailed explanation on this. Probably, I need to consult s lawyer or sth.

have a look at the UKBA website there is lots of information there. they would need to issue you a certificate of sponsorship.

Thanks for the link.
Well, I guess it is time for me to leave as there is not hope to gain a certificate of sponsorship letter from my current employer.
Also I can say that it is almost 100% for those new graduated international students who are not be able to receive a letter from a qualified British companies as they do not even accept to hire those international students with less than 3 months(in some cases the date will up to less than 6 months) dates on their current visa ...
What a good policy for higher educated young international students. No chances at all to work here. On the other hand, they give so many excuses to those refugees in order to let them stay in this country. They say that Gordon Brown messed up the UK immigration laws. and many low qualified international immigrants left in the UK, however, many higher educated immigrants have also got chances to contribute to the UK as well. Now under the new law of this government, the only thing will be left is those low qualified international immigrants. Don't worry, they can play all their minds to survive any laws in order to stay but not those people with very good potential and educated in the UK. What a cool thing !
I'm gonna out of here happily in this year.
