tier 2 extension and employer licence renewal

Post by david1955 » Tue Mar 27, 2012 4:19 pm

Hi Everyone , i hope some one can shed some light on this scenario.
My tier 2 visa extension is due in nov 2012 and my employer licence is valid until nov 2013.
When i apply for extension willl i get only 1 year extension as per my employer licence or i will get a full 2 year extension. The reason why i am quering this is coz 1 of my friend has told me that my employer would be able to issue me UCOS only upto the end of there licence. I am not sure if he is telling the truth or not. Can someone experienced please shed some light on this.

Regards

You will get your extension regardless of the expiry date of your sponsor's licence.

Sponsor licences are valid for 4 years. If they are not renewed leaves of all sponsored migrants will be reduced to 60 days. This is to allow them time to look for a new sponsor. If they cannot find a new sponsor they will have to leave the UK.

The reference for the above is here (clause 691):
