I think it`s bizarre that they have actually stated in the same letter that you can apply for PSW! It's not a wrong statement but seems outside their area of responsibility. Did you ask them to include this?
Well, college knows my intentions, why I need this letter, so yes I ask them and they add it up. Should that will be a problem?Lucapooka wrote:If you want to actually read the guidance as suggested it will explain how they define the date of award.
When I said 'Did you ask them to include this?' it was in reference to the comment that came before immediately before that question.
Yes of course, I know every thing is right all the info is there whatever UKBA needed its on Tier 4 highly trusted as well. I have been awarded a legit qualification too which by all mean qualify me for PSW. Just didn’t mention the awarded dateGreenie wrote:The letter does not sound right to me. The date of award needs to be on the letter. The title of the qualification needs to be on the letter. If the certificate is not available the letter needs to explain why and when it will be available. I also find it odd that they have mentioned the fact that you can now apply for a psw visa. This is not for the college to say. Does it mention where you studied for the qualification and that your college is on the list of tier 4 sponsors?

no because the letter is not addressed to the student, it is addressed to UKBA. They need to specify the date of the award on the letter.Lucapooka wrote:Para 79 says the date of award is taken as the date on which the applicant was first notified, in writing, by the awarding institution, that the qualification has been awarded. Then para 82 elaborates that the letter must show the date of award in accordance with para 79.
Does that mean the date on the letter can be treated as the date of the award?
it doesn't need to be addressed to the student - the letter is issued for the purpose of applying for PSW to meet the requirements of the policy guidance. It is fine for it to be addressed to UKBA or to whom it may concern (this is standard) but the date of the award must be mentioned.Lucapooka wrote:Yes, I did not notice that valid point. Why is this letter not addressed to the student?
