Biometric appointment problems

I applied for Tier 2 General visa extension on dated 06-February-2012 by postal . I received letter in midweek of February to book Biometric Appointment online. Unfortunately during that period there was a technical glitch in online booking. so i called UK home office to book Biometric appointment over phone. Unfortunately i was able to get appointment on 30 march 2012 (Nearly 2 months from the date of my visa renewal application). I recieved text message from UKBA confirming my appointment as mentioned above.

To attend this appointment I had to take leave from work and took my family of 3 ( wife and 2 childrens of age 3) to the enrollment centre.

On 30th march 2012 i went to attend an appointment at Derby Biometric Enrolment Centre at 10.00 which was confirmed by the text message sent to me. The officer at the bio-metric enrollment centre were not able to reterive the BRN reference number on there system. So they called the home office to enquiry about my details and found my details are not entered into their systems. I waited there till 11.30 am and they could not retrieve my BRN reference number and details. The advised to contact home office for booking another appointment at PEO offices.

I contacted UK border agency and narrated the problem and they adviced me to send email to Appointmentexceptions@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk for further instructions.

tried once again to call UK border agency to book a new appointment at PEO office but the office mentioned me to book online. My unfortunate no biometric appointments available in derby till May 31 2012. I was only given an option of booking bio-metric appointment Public Enquiry Office - Sheffield , on 02/05/2012.

One can understand by reviewing the above details from time of Sending application by post on 06-Feb-2012 and getting a Biometric appointment on 02/05/2012 , which is nearly after 3 months . The standard of service of processing the Tier 2 applications is 20 working days but not in my case which is not exceptional.

Now i have to travel with my family from derby to sheffield to attend Biometric appointment. My immigration friends there is no way to get solution for the problems which UKBA creates. No one at UKBA takes responsibility of understand the problems the customer is facing. I cannot console myself what is the point of Postal application when one has to travel to PEO office for giving biometric details. Atleast when you apply in india we could go to VFS office submit the application and biometric details at the same time. The amount of fees we are paying for visa is it worth the service are we getting back from UKBA.

You should be able to give your biometric details at a participating post office without having to book an appointment in advance. Wasn't this option listed in your biometric invitation letter?
