Past Earnings -- Pay Date query Urgent

Hello Guys!!!!

Past earning...shoud I show the start date as the pay date or period.

I get paid last friday of each month, so I am showing from April 2011 to March 2012. so I got paid on 30/04/2011 and last pay date is 31st March 2012.

so for past earning start and end date should i put:
30/04/2011 to 31/03/2012
or should i put
01/04/2011 to 31/03/2012
