The UK Border Agency in Kingston, Jamaica

Post by Yonoesi » Sun Apr 01, 2012 12:43 pm

My husband was initially refused entry clearance in October 2011 and we put in an appeal to the Tribunal and submitted more evidence to support his appeal. The time limit was given for March 2012. My husband got a call from the visa Place in Kingston to bring his passport to their office and that they would call him when his passport is ready. He did this on February 13 and has not yet been contacted and the deadline for the Visa office in Kingston to submit their bundle has passed and they have not submitted any paperwork to the Tribunal. I have been told by the Tribunalthat the Visa Office has until May 2012, roughly an extra 8 weeks. Hence my question.

The only reason that I know when they ask you to bring your passport in to the BHC post is that they have had second thoughts about the refusal and are prepared to overturn their initial refusal and issue the visa instead, hence ask for passport.

That then means they are not prepared to go to appeal court and may withdraw at last minute.

I am not saying that is the case here but I get a hunch that this is what may happen in the next week or two.

You just need to sit tight, cross your fingers and see what happens

Hi there, thank you for your thoughts on our situation, it has been confusing and there's no further information on their website when they say that if a visa is to be issued, they will contact you. Anyway, will keep you posted.
