Indian PCC

I had my current passport issued in Birmingham,UK. I will be soon getting British citizenship and hence will be giving up the indian passport. I will also be applying for OCI which means that the Indian authorities would cancel my passport before giving me OCI.

I have lodged my 175 in Dec 2011 for OZ and soon or later i would need to apply for a Indian PCC. Can I apply for the PCC in Birmigham with the Cancelled Indian passport?

I sent an email to the Indian CGI at Birmimngham CGI with the above questions and as expected there is no response from them :)...

Can anyone here pls help?
