Spouse visa - quick question regarding application form

Post by mosesmoses » Mon Apr 02, 2012 4:02 pm

Hi guys,

Just a quick question regarding the filling in of the application form:

Our first application was made by a solicitor but was refused, now we are going to apply again next week. I am filling in the form for my wife and would just like to know about the last question on the form "Have you used an agent or representative to complete this application"

Should I tick yes and put my details in the box or should I send a blank form for my wife to copy onto? Or can she date and sign it and tick no? Does it matter?

Just want to make sure before I send her the papers.

Thanks in advance!

Hi mosesmoses

I filled the application on behalf of my wife as well and ticked 'No' and she signed the form as she is the main applicant.

Hi

It does not matter where you fill the form, here in the UK or in India. As long as it is filled on behalf of the applicant it should be fine.

The data required in the form is such that both the applicant and the sponsor has to fill in the details, so the authorities are well aware that this is joint work.

When I applied the online version was not mandatory (in Feb), so I filled in the paper form on her behalf i.e. filled in the applicant details as her details and mine in the sponsor section and then she signed the application form as she is the applicant.

I would imagine everyone does the same.

- I filled up the form in UK
- Gathered all the required documents
- Went to get married with my then fiancé
- After the marriage, we submitted all the paperwork

PS - before submitting I tool two copies of all the paperwork one for myself and one for my wife to keep in case we need them. She read through the whole application and other docs in the bundle before we submitted the application.
