Bank Account Problem

Post by Ahmed25 » Tue Apr 03, 2012 8:54 pm

Hi,

I am in London since Aug 2011 and none of the bank is offering me to open a proper account. Although, I have a basic bank account, but is it ok for ukba to show such a huge amount (£2,00,000) in that basic account? because this account offer very limited features for cash withdrawal. Please comment or suggest if you people have some better option.

By proper you mean current? A deposit account is a proper account also. The money needs to be held in an account in your name in a bank regulated by the FSA. It needs to be an institution operationally set-up as a bank.

Thanks.

Yes, proper means current. All banks in Uk are offering basic cash card account without cheque book. Can this affect my application means can ukba raise an issue that you don't have a proper (current) account and you show 2,00,000 pounds in it. Although, I believe that they are interested in money only but I want 2nd opinion from you people.

A large number of applicants will have no UK account as they have yet to enter UK. Having a UK deposit account (only) is not a problem.

ok guru. I know u r expert. By taking your words tomorrow I am going to deposit the money from my brother account to my account. One thing more please is it ok to apply immediately after funds transfer (means one or two day statement for investment funds)or wait 2 3 weeks to make the statement strong?

I'm not; I just read the requirements in the guidance. Nowhere is it mentioned that the seed capital has to reside in a current account to the exclusion of any other.
