Where do you travel to? Are you a visa national? With the CoA you can enter the UK. The problem might be boarding the aircraft as the airline might refuse boarding if you are visa national without an entry clearance.

If you travel within the EU together with your married partner, then it is much simpler.

Well we are going to Malta

My partner will be there yes, but we have time to apply for a visa now as we are travelling in a month

However my visa for the UK will run out a week after my travel date

But yes I will be travelling with my partner and coming back

Apply for a Schengen visa from the Malta High Commission. The visa is free as a family member of EEA national. You will need to produce both passports, marriage certificate. They might be a bit funny if you don't have a valid permit to live in the UK but this should not be required as a family member of EEA national.

Travel with your marriage certificate and CoA in case you will face issues with the airline on the way back.

I doubt you will be able to board a plane without a valid family permit, residence card or permanent residence card unless you are a non-visa national. COA won't work.
