UKBA Tier1 Ext PEO on 29-Mar-2012 croydon-Decision pending

Post by Prasath4u » Thu Apr 05, 2012 11:15 am

Hi,
I have applied for my Tier 1 General VISA Extension application on 29th March 2012 in Croydon office. Due to the system breakdown and the delay in biometric, they started processing the applications from only 29th March afternoon. Hence, the decision was not made within that time of closure and they informed that, they checked the docs and given me the rest of the supporting docs, but the case worker will need to decide based on some factors. So i would get a call after when the decision is made and then asked me to come to collect the rest of the documents (passport, bank statements, payslips etc).

But its been around 1 week, i didnot receive any call from UKBA border agency. Can you let me know what i should do in this case? As per PEO appointment, the decision should have been made in a single day, but its been around a week the decision is not made. Mine is a very simple application with all proper documents / proofs provided.

I even went to croydon office on 4th April and was told that the application is not done. When i try to inquire about the status through phone 08706067766 and press option 3, it says the info can not be provided if the application is made within 6 months.

Regards

if they kept the passport, bank statememt and payslips what docs did they return ?

this can be a simple case of delay due to system issues and backlogs in which case you should be contacted with a result soon, bad luck if you dont get a call today, that would mean next week or even later because many people are taking next week off.

the other scenario would be if they decide to conduct further checks then your application will be treated same as postal one, expect a decision inside four weeks

Thanks for the reply. They returned offer letter, contract letter, employer letter stating 12 months of experience, p60 tax etc and kept only passport, bank statement and payslips. Mine should be a simple case, as i am working in a permanent role and my 12 payslips are consecutive and are from the same employer. Also i have given a single 12 months official bank statement. Not sure what is causing the delay...!

Really i dont understand then what preference they are giving to PEO vs postal applications. If they need to conduct further checks, then they should let me know for further information or submit additional documentation as per the PEO submission process.

offer letter, employment letter stating 12 months of experience is not required in the first place so dont count them.

the docs they kept imply they did not consider your application on the day, they will get around to it later.

if its a simple case and the docs are in order then you should be okay.
ofcourse its bad luck not getting a same day decision, but its no secret uk ba can act in strange ways and there is nothing anybody can do about it

postal applications are taking 2-3 months nowadays so thats your only consolation, you should get it in 4 weeks' time, if not today or next week

That's rather positive. I'm in the same boat sort of...Extension on my Ancestry and I went into Croydon Friday. Got told the same thing but also didn't have one correct doc but was told it prob wouldn't be a problem...Was also told I'd get a call back but haven't heard anything.

Oh totally...I'm just worried as I'm back to Australia next Friday and having a passport would be handy! Also having a visa would be handy to get back into the country :)
