Evidence of marriage arrangements-fiancee visa

Post by be_jova » Thu Apr 05, 2012 2:12 pm

I've been looking on the UKBA website about this and its says that "booking at a Register Office or church is not proof that a marriage will take place."

Since we plan just to invite a couple of closest friends and have diner at home or restaurant after the wedding, what evidence i can provide to prove that the marriage will take place-our intention to get married??

Thanks

Any evidence that may be available that wedding arrangements are in hand may help in this respect.

Whatever you have to hand. As defined by the guidance, you can't pre-book a wedding for someone who is not in the country and this requirement to provide concrete evidence is not a deal breaker if there is other evidence that the couple are in a genuine relationship. It's a filter intended to prevent immigration abuse so if you have long-standing relationship that is leading to marriage (and can show this) you will be fine. Even an email, letter or pamphlet from the registrar explaining how to book a wedding will suffice.

We have been in a relationship for 1 year now,we were visiting each other and met each others families,so as far as i see now my question is directly related to genuine s of our relationship,so as long as i prove that we are genuine its fine.

And yes we will try to get a simple e-mail from registrar about booking a wedding.

Thanks alot
