Travel to scotland when UK visa for extension

Post by Nihar » Fri Apr 06, 2012 9:15 am

Hi,
Me and my wife (have indian passport) will be in London, UK. My wife is on ICT short term tier2 visa and me on dependent visa.
She will be sending her visa for renewal/extension in May.So my question is:
Can we travel outside england - to Scotland/ Wales (for vacation) in this timespan when she had no passport with her but sent to embassy for extension?
I have my dependent visa valid till Aug but only she will be sending for extension. So is it possible / legal to travel to Scotland/Wales when Pasport is with UK embassy for extension?

I expect your wife will be sending her passport (not visa) for extension to her embassy in London.

For immigration purposes the UK is one country and it doesn't make any difference whether you travel in England, Scotland or Wales.

Before sending off her passport make a photocopy of the personal information page and the page where the visa is stamped.

Should you be stopped and questioned by immigration officials during your travels just show them the photocopy, they have means of checking the information via computer/mobile phone.

Enjoy your holiday.
