8 years rule under Tier 4 policy??

Post by Tek75 » Sat Apr 07, 2012 12:24 am

Hi

last year the home office's statement of intent had an extra policy regarding students who are already 8 years in UK.It stated that those who have been in UK for more than 8 years will not be able to apply for further leave to remain under tier 4 from April 2012.The latest rule that took effect from 6th April 2012 does not state that policy except for 5 years limit at degree level and onwards under tier 4.Anyone knows any other clarification on the 8 years rule???

They had already introduced a rule limiting study at below degree level to 3 years so the 8 years is a combination of the 3 year limit for below degree level and the new 5 year limit for degree level study.

Does this apply for students who already had spent 9 years on student visa and last applied for extension in 2007?
