Passport expires

Hello,
My passport (with a Tier 2 visa) will expire in 6 months. Do I have to transfer Tier 2 sticker into a new one?
I'm going to apply for ILR in autumn and, of course, would like not to pay twice: first for old visa transfer and then immediately for ILR. Is it possible to travel with a valid visa in invalid passport?

Yes. Just travel with both (expired and new) passports.
