Visa docs and Family vs visitor visa ?

I am in settled in the UK (ILR) and would like my brother and mother to visit UK.
1. Which category do i need to apply - visitor or family ?
2. is the following documents enough ? (My mother will sponsor for her travel and i am providing accommodation)

• original passport of both applicants
• Bank passbook individually for both applicants
• Bank Deposits individually for both applicants
• Property Documents

Documents sent by me (Son in UK)
• Sponsor Letter and Invitation letter from myself and wife
• Letter from Accountant (Self employed)
• Self-attested copy
• Tenancy agreement
• Council tax and Utility bills
• No Objection letter from landlord

Is the above enough for both category ? Please let me know if I have missed out anything ?

And is it online application now and how long does it take to process (any idea's ) ?

Standard Visitor and then sub category will be Family.

Your parents will need A LOT more documentation than that to prove their ties to home country and their personal circumstances. They have to each convince the ECO that they are genuine visitors and will leave the UK.

No it is not. What about other family members, employment, income proofs, etc

my brother who is not working and my father is no more

We have some more deposits which we can show and a property - i am thinking what else - I showed these two 2 years ago and she got the visa but she could not make it to the UK (but at that time only mother applied not my brother)

she can show her self-assesment in India - what else would you suggest ?

HO are becoming stricter now. You have only to read the forum (General UK Immigration) to see the number of visa refusals for parents. Perhaps you read some of the posts on here to understand the level of documents people are submitting (some have success but many do not).

we might be able to show another property ( need to check) - so 2 properties + bank deposit - will this be enough ?

if not can you please give me some examples to understand what more they will require please ?

Proof of income, employment details and a letter, payslips which match a bank statement, pension proof.....

Please do search the forum, there are many recent posts in this forum which have a lot of information on what people have submitted, reasons for refusals due to lack of documents etc.

so just to be clear for proof of income - we can submit year end tax (similar to p60). she gets interests from deposits which is source of income - i can try and speak to accountant in India to see if he can give a letter - hope this will be ok ?

Yes to both questions. Each person has to submit an application.

When you say 'deposits', what are they and where do they come from?

these are Fixed Deposits (Bonds)

so if they make separate application how will be able to show my bank statements as I will have only one copy of it ? and since i am self employed do i need to submit my business bank statements apart or is letter from accountant enough ? again if i have to submit business bank statements, I have only 1 set of originals so how would i be able to submit for my mother and brother if they make separate applications ?

Copies for both should suffice.
