Visa to Ilr application

Post by Nkamel » Mon Mar 25, 2024 9:45 pm

Hi all,

I need an advice, my visa is valid until Oct 2024. My husband (main applicant Skilled worker visa) recently changed to a new employer and only submitted (the change of employer application) for HIMSELF due to cost etc. So his new visa is valid until June 2024. I understand as a dependent I don't need to apply new visa as my expiration date will be revised accordingly based on the main application ( please correct me if I'm wrong).

We are planning to apply for the ILR as we are already eligible for the 5 years route. My question is, before we apply for ILR, as a dependent do I need to apply to update the home office about my visa (as my husband did) before we apply for ILR as my husband only updated the home office for himself?

I look forward to hearing from you and thanks in advance. :)

You have not stated when the ilr application date is likely to be?

You have also stated ypur spousr new visa expjres in june 2024! Is this incorrect?

No, this is not how it works at all. Your visa expiry date remains what it is. You only get a new expiry date when ypu apply for a new visa. Nothing changes automatically for you because your spouse got a new visa.
