Visa Renewal Approval Next Steps

Post by YoungAussie » Sun Dec 30, 2018 1:48 am

Hi All,

I hope this hasn't been asked before, i tried looking but couldn't find an answer.

I am currently living in the UK, and I'm going from a Tier 5 to a Fiancee Visa, the only problem is I can't find any information on what happens once my renewal is confirmed.

I have heard that I need to leave the UK and return on my old visa, is this correct? Or do I just need to pick up a new biometric resident permit from my local post office?

Thanks in advance for any help

You can't apply for a fiancee visa from within the UK. You can however, marry in the UK while on your Tier 5 visa and then apply for a FLR(M) visa without leaving.

When does your Tier 5 visa expire? You can only give notice to marry at a Home Office designated Registry Office. The Registrar is then legally bound to notify the HO, who can then extend the notification period from 28 to 70 days, in order to interview you both separately before the wedding can go ahead should they choose to do so.

I have heard that I need to leave the UK and return on my old visa, is this correct? Or do I just need to pick up a new biometric resident permit from my local post office? If you are granted a 2.5 year spouse visa under FLR(M), the biometric card will be sent by post. This again assumes you have married and applied from in the UK.

Thanks in advance for any help
Does your sponsor meet the minimum income level of £18,600 p.a :?:
The NHS surcharge is due to increase to £1,000 on the 7th January and this is in addition to the £1,033 visa fee.

Hi Casa,

Thanks for replying to my post, I have moving onto a family visa, for 2.5 years, I have already applied so everything is good there :)

I have applied in the UK with the FLR(M) form, so does that mean that I don't need to leave and re-enter on my Family Visa?

Regards

Have you applied for an Unmarried Partner visa then or are you actually married?? It is not clear from your post as you reference Fiance visa.

No requirement to leave and re-enter.

Hi All,

Sorry for the late reply, holidays had me busy

I followed the steps on the UK Immigration website, and was directed to apply for a 2.5 year visa on the basis of being the fiancee of a UK citizen, from a Tier 5 Youth Mobility Visa.

As the next steps, I have been told conflicting information in regards to leaving the country in order to "activate" my new visa. I'm assuming that the approval letter will have the next steps, however I would like to know before then to arrange travel.

Hope this makes everything clear

Regards

You do not have to leave and re enter the UK. There are no "next steps" as you do not get a visa in your passport. You will get an approval letter and separately your visa BRP card. You should not travel out of the UK until you have your brp card.

Not sure who is telling you conflicting I formation, but suggest stop listening to them whoever they are and follow the official HO rules and guidance only.
