Visitors visa in future date

Post by hsmp_1476 » Mon Feb 23, 2009 8:20 pm

Hi all,

I am living in UK on HSMP and planning to call my in-laws for a 4-6 month visit. Can they (living in India) apply for their visitor's visa 2-3 months in advance? I mean can they apply now and ask for a visa which starts in a future date?

Thanks a lot in advance

Vikram

I doubt it whether they can apply 2-3 months in advance because ones circumstances may change ( eg,you may become unemployed or to ill to work and therefore not able to provide funds to support your rellative at the time)

2-3 weeks in advance might be possible, but not 2-3 months.

See what other respond you get

Yes. They can postdate the visa.

Thanks guys, I finally got a response from VFS India saying that visa can be applied 3 months in advance and they give postdated visa as well.

But now I need to think of another thing...my rental agreement is expiring in another 4 months and I am not sure if that will be an issue during sponsering a visa. There is no way I can get another rental agreement till the current one expires. Please let me know what you guys think.

Thanks
Vikram

Perhaps you could mention in your invitation/sponsor letter that, although your rental agreement expires on (whatever date), it is subject to renewal. Or does it not already say that, somewhere in the terms?

Thanks Rozen. I think I will do that. I will mention in the invitation/sponsor letter clarly about this.

I dont think the rental agreement says anything about the renewal

Many thanks for your help.
