When should I join company after getting VISA

Post by albat » Sun Jan 30, 2022 4:51 pm

Hi,

I've received Skilled Worker VISA and it's vignette it will be valid from 31st January 2022 till 01/05/2022.

I wanted to ask, when should I join company? Can I take a couple of months to join company, my company has told me it's fine to join company on 1st May 2022. If it can be allowed in VISA, it will give be a lot of time to get settled and bring in my wife.

Also, is it necessary to join company's payroll? Can I not just send invoices and get paid over?

You can enter to the UK anytime within the timeframe on the vignette. If your employer agreed on you starting the job later than expected, then there's no need to worry about it. They would need to make the changes on the CoS (if needed) and so on.

No salary will be paid before you start working for them. Not sure what invoices you want to claim for.
