Tier 2 General : Switching Employer(Sponsor)

Post by skrn » Sat May 04, 2019 8:28 pm

Hi,

I am currently working with Tier 2 general visa with employer "A" valid till Jan 2024.Although I am in process of being offered another job from employer B. Would really appreciate some guidance around my below queries to understand the process here :
1. Do I need to pay full IHS fees again or could I use the previous IHS reference for new application?
2. Is there any special category under which I need to apply for tier 2 General visa or just the fresh application would be good?
3. I have a spouse on dependent visa, does she also need to file for new application or her existing BRP/visa will be valid enough based on she is my dependent (independent from company)?

While changing employers on Tier 2 general visa can IHS fees be reused ?

Post by skrn » Sun May 19, 2019 12:31 pm

Hi, I have already paid IHS fees for 5 years till 2024 for tier 2 visa for employer A. Although now I am changing to employer B with new Tier 2 visa. Can I reuse the IHS reference/fees that I already paid while for Employer A. My Tier 2 visa started in January and has only been 5 months for IHS to be counted.
I understand that the IHS I paid was £1000 and now its £2000 for 5 years tenure.
So that is my confusion:
Is there a way that I can reuse the IHS fees (paid earlier) and pay balance £1000 in addition to it for new Tier 2 application ?
If not then could it somehow be asked to refund or will it all go wasted ?

You have to pay IHS again and get a new reference number.

Already answered.
2. Is there any special category under which I need to apply for tier 2 General visa or just the fresh application would be good?
It is an extension but change of employer.
3. I have a spouse on dependent visa, does she also need to file for new application or her existing BRP/visa will be valid enough based on she is my dependent (independent from company)?
No she does not have to apply with you.
