Hello - will keep it to the point. 2 questions pls.
1. Mom has 10 year visit visa issued on 10 March 2022.
Travelled to UK on 15 November 2022. I assume she is allowed to stay in country for 6 months in a 12 month period. However not sure when the 12 month period sets from? is it from date of entry or from date the visa has been granted?
2. Both myself and her daughter are UK national citizens including our spouses and children, obtained via Tier 2 route about 5 years ago. Unfortunately we lost our father in summers last year and now my Mom is alone back home. How can I make her a permanent resident in the UK as well? Both of her children are well settled financially and accommodation wise - income over 100k per annum. Housing is also sorted.

1. Date of entry is the start of her permitted time per stay. She cannot stay in rhe UK for longer than what she stays in her home country.
2. You can't. An adult dependent relative visa is the most difficult visa to get and the most expensive. You have to prove a lot, see links below. If you attempt this visa and it is refused, any future visitor visas will be refused due to her intention to settle. Her current 10 year visa could also be cancelled or she is refused entry when she next travels to the UK and her visa cancelled. The few that have been successfull with this visa have only been so after very lengthy and costly appeals and usually from a country where care and medical care is very expensive.

Thanks for swift reply.
On 1 - essentially 6 month is the max total stay in 12 months? In this case fly out before 15 May essentially and then cannot enter before 15th Nov 2023?
On 2 - noted. It is a shame - given she is alone back home and is a patient of depression. Fact that future visas and current one can be revoked makes me very risk averse to apply.

The UK syatem does not look favourably to family migration termed chain migration.
