10 Year Visitor Visa for family

I am a British born citizen & my wife is here on a spousal visa (First 2 1/2 years with renal in Feb 2016). Here family - Parents + brother are planning on coming in the summer and I though it would be better for them to apply for a 10 year visitor visa to spare the hassle and cost of going through the application each time they visit. I read the below link but cannot figure out if I this is applied to myself or my wife! https://www.gov.uk/family-visit-visa/eligibility

Have they visited before? If not there's no chance of a first time applicant being successful. Better go for the six monther a few times to establish a strong record.

yes they have visited the UK twice over the last 5 years before when my wife was a post grad student and again at our wedding they where present on short term visitor visas.

As they have only visited the UK twice, it is unlikely they will be granted a 10 year visa.
