Hi every one
I need an advice on my tax issue.
I am on Tier 1 General and my ILR is due on May 2016.
I have two issues regarding my tax.
When i applied for Tier 1 general in 2011 i had to show income of 36k.
My income from job was 16k only. Therefore to show the remaining income i registered a company and received dividends of 22k.
I manage to get tier 1 general sucessefully. The company was closed no tax was paid and neither i submitted tax return and did not show any extra income to Hmrc.
In 2013, to achieve 36k i earned 22k from my job snd remaining amount was shown as second employment. I presented 24 payslips. No paye was paid on the second job and company was closed.
I manage to get the extention sucessfully.
Now i have come to know that Homeoffice is checking tax record for the past 5 years.
Kindly give me advice what to do. Please bear in mind that company was striked off and nothing can be done regarding tax. However i have been told that company can be reoppened again.
I will appreciate if some one can give me a good advise.
Regards
Maniji

Hi ,
Your best option here is to pick up the phone and call HMRC . From a neutral point of view , you haven't pay tax for earlier ltd companies and get them closed. As per HMRC / company house guide line " all the tax matters must be settled before any one can close the company " .
You have time so better correct your books . Under current situation , your ILR is in danger as HO are now quiet strict with tax affairs.

So you are saying that you obtained both Extensions by deception !!
For 1st Extension you Registered a company just for the sake of an Extension and closed it down .
For 2nd Extension you Produced 24 payslips , No PAYE was paid.
You don't have much choice here .... call HMRC and pay what you have not paid .
I am sorry to say , but this is not the right way , and Pray Home Office don't find out you have done deception .
People working hard and honestly get affected by these sort of doings .

I don't think that paying PAYE is simple thing to do. There is a tax amount that your emplyer pays as well. So it will be employee tax+NI+Employer contribution. But you have to sort this out.

Hi Maniji,
Sorry to hear about your situation but it is indeed a tricky one.
I advise you to sort out all your taxes first be it corporation, VAT, SA, PAYE or NI. And try and get a good lawyer who can guide you.
Good luck!

Members indulging in dubious tax & business practices (&/or engaging dodgy or incompetent lawyers/accountants etc) are advised to seek advice from an appropriate tax/business forum.
This board exists to discuss immigration/emigration, travel & citizenship-related topics & cases - there are no tax consultants here.
Having said that the advice offered so far appears measured, logical and sound:
- clean up tax affairs first;
then come back & focus on immigration matters;
Ref Board T&Cs (click) - see point 9

I would suggest to sort out all taxes before you apply
aa this has been a main reason behind majority of refusal
now a days......
