Hi

I've filled my ILR long residence application online (SET LR). And I have been asked to submit documents to prove my marriage status and letters sent to the address in the last two years to prove the relationship with my wife.

From what I've read on online forums, I only have to submit the supporting documents relevant to me (such as old and current passports, English language certificates etc), but nothing relevant to my wife. So I feel this request for my Wife's details is bit odd, and makes me wonder whether I've done something wrong in the application.

I want to confirm whether it's normal to request my partners documents in ILR LR application or I'm wondering whether I've filled the wrong application form or done something wrong. Can you please advise.

The checklist is generic and not always accurate. Relationship documents are not needed for SET(LR).

I need to submit a translation of the wedding certificate for my ILR application and my wife's FLR application. I still have the translation I used when obtaining my Wife's dependant visa in 2013-this application was made out of UK, and the translation was also done out of UK by a professional translator.

1. Can I still use this translation to apply inside UK?

2. Is there a time limit on translations? for example does the UKVI require translations to be done and dated within a month of the application date?

To my understanding and reference to other members, there is no time limit to such translated document that has not changed due to passage of time so it should be alright to still use same especially when it was used and accepted on a previous occasion by HO.

Thanks for the reply. I've also contacted a UK translation company. They've mentioned the translation will be done by a professional freelancer working for them, and this would be mentioned in the company letter headed paper and would be signed by the freelancer confirming the translation is accurate. Would this be an acceptable translation to UKVI if I decide to submit a new translation done in the UK. Thanks

• Refused a visa

• Refused entry at the border

• Refused permission to stay or remain

• Refused asylum

• Deported

• Removed

• Required to leave

• Excluded or banned from entry

An application for an in country visa extension was refused in a non-UK country. Does it fall under "Refused a Visa" or "Refused permission to stay or remain"? I can't understand the difference between the two. Please advise.

Refused permission to stay or remain is usually when your visa is curtailed.

Yes & Its both you need to mention. Either its a out of country visa application refusal or in-country leave to remain or stay refusal. Both needs to be declared.

Do you have any friends in your country of birth, nationality or any other country where you have
lived for more than 5 years?

For the above question in the ILR LR application; I am stating that most of my current friends are in the UK and gives the names of my friends back in my home country.

1. Because I have mentioned that I have friends in UK, Do I need to give names of the friends in the UK?
2. Do I need to give the full names of the friends in my home country? At the moment I am only planning to state there first name and the last name.

Your answer to this question does not matter. It has no bearing on the outcome of your application. Answer whatever/however you please.

I am applying for ILR (long residence). I've spent a total of 300 days out of UK. The longest visit outside being 104 days long. Can anyone tell whether I satisfy the residency requirement? is there a problem with the longest visit of 104 days?

No. If you read the rules properly the absence limits are total 540 days and single absence limit of 180 days (6 months). Also please keep all your questions in 1 thread (you shouldn't start a new topic for every question you have - you already have a pre-existing thread).

Hi,

There is a faded stamp in the passport that has been placed accidently. Most likely an immigration officer kept his stamp accidently on top of that page. This was placed very recently, because I can't remember this being when I applied for visa in 2018. I am bit worried because the stamp is not in a page designated for visas, but in the page next to photo page.

Do you think this could be an issue? can my ILR be refused for this. Should I explain this writing a letter or note? I've shared a picture of it below, please have a look before commenting.

I have already checked the photo. There are multiple blurred stamps on my own passport. Never had any issues. HO will make their own checks. You are overthinking.

Agreed with others. No issue. I have seen even the worst ones than yours especially of those travelled to eastern European countries where the ink on stamps doesn't dry quick or extinguish without deforming the other pages too.

I've already booked a UKVCAS appointment. However when I log back in to my UKVI visa application it still shows "Book Appointment". Is this normal? I thought when an appointment is booked via UKVCAS it will be automatically reflected in the UKVI visa application. Bit worried, can anyone clarify please?

Do I need to take any photographs to the UKVCAS appointment? In previous applications UKVI requested photographs, but no mention of it in the SET(LR) document checklist.

No you do not, the required photo will be taken during your biometrics application.

Can I upload colour scans to UKVCAS website? It asks for black and white, but I managed to scan all files to be within 6 MB per file with colour. Just worried it may lead to rejection or problems because UKVCAS website asks to upload black and white scans.
