FLR(M) application form

Post by kierton59 » Thu Jun 25, 2015 11:17 am

Hi,
Apologies if this has already been asked elsewhere. My question is regarding the FLR(M) application form. There are a number of boxes/questions on the form that do not apply to us, do we leave these blank or do we put "N/A" .

Thanks

FLR(M) Applying soon but have some questions

Post by kierton59 » Fri Jun 26, 2015 10:18 am

Hi,

Any help is very much appreciated. I am applying for a further 2.5 years after my partners initial stay on her spouse visa.

Enrolling Biometrics

From reading the guidelines around this am I right to say once we have sent off all the forms/evidence the home office will send us a request for biometric data enrolment? Is it this form we take to the post office?

Finance

In section 7 (financial requirement) we have answered questions about both our employment but my salary (The sponsor) meets the financial requirement alone. Am I ok to just submit my employment letter/pay slips/bank statements ? My partner has moved jobs in past 3 months and it gets more complicated providing her evidence.

My partners visa expires on 01/08/2015, would I be ok to submit everything middle of July or is this leaving it late?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you in advance !

Hi,

On page 27 and 28 question 7.3 asks for current salary do I just put my own current salary in this box? Then at the end of the options it asks for total amount do I just put my current salary in again?

Also a quick note on my salary it has steadily risen over the past 6 months but at all times over the last 6 months it has been over £18,600. Do i put my current salary in or the lowest salary earned over the past 6 months?

Thank you very much !

Post by kierton59 » Thu Jul 16, 2015 6:05 pm

Hi,

When applying by post do I need to include a pre-paid recorded delivery envelope for them to send the documents/passports etc back to me?

Thanks

Are you applying from UK or from abroad? (I assume from UK).

In the notes for FLR form it says:
We will return your passport(s) and other documents by Recorded Delivery. If you would like them to be returned by Special Delivery, you must provide a prepaid Special Delivery envelope which is large enough
Is the spouse visa the same as FLR?
If not, is there similar guidance attached to the spouse visa form?

"VIsa" or "leave to enter" or "entry clearance" can only be applied for from outside the UK.
From within UK one applies for "leave to remain".

Hi,

Sorry I should have been more specific. I am applying for FLR(M).

So am I right in saying they will send it by recorded delivery unless I want it special delivery?

Thanks for responses.

PLEASE HELP !

Post by kierton59 » Thu Sep 03, 2015 6:20 pm

Hi,

Recently applied for a spouse visa but the HO are asking for more documentary evidence that we have been cohabiting together. We have submitted what we have in respect of this letters from bank, joint account etc but they want more. We are struggling to find letters dating back over the last 2.5 years. We have a few recent items sent to us in 2015 but nothing really dating back and what we did have dating back we have already submitted.

Is there anything I can do to solve this?

Thank you in advance, any help is very much appreciated.

Your post is confusing as you mention applying for 'a spouse visa'. What category of visa have you applied for? FLR(M)? If so, how many documents have you submitted as evidence that you have been living together? As a general rule, the case worker will want to see one proof of joint address every 4 months. If you have nothing in joint names, you would have to submit 12 examples spread as evenly as possible over the 2.5 year period.

We have applied for FLR(M). As we are living with parents our names are not on any of the bills etc and so we are struggling to get documents every 4 months. We have submitted a few joint account statements and individual letters but they are spaced out. We have quite a few recent documents in 2015 which we can send them by mail but are struggling a bit for the more dated correspondence. Is there anything we can do? Phone them to explain? etc?

Did you submit a letter with your application explaining that you are living with relatives, as per form FLR(M)?
"If you and your partner lived with relatives or friends for some or all of the 2-year period, please
provide a letter from the relative(s) and/or friend(s) confirming this.

and
Please give an explanation on a separate sheet if you cannot provide six items; if the items are
not addressed to both of you; or if they do not cover the 2-year period

Hi,

Yes my mum and dad wrote a letter confirming we have stayed with them for the full duration of the visa and both signed the letter. We didn't include an explanation why we couldn't provide the documents, as the documents we did provide did cover their requirements in terms of the number of documents but I think what they now want is the "spread evenly across the 2.5 years" which we are struggling with. When I send the additional documents we do have should I include a note to saying as we are living with parents and so our names are not on the utility bills/ council tax bills as so we are struggling to find documents evenly spread over the 2.5 year period. Would this assist our application?

Is there anything else you think will help us?

Thanks

You have a long immigration journey ahead of you so the best thing you can do is read up, in advance, on the next visa in the pipeline.
The Gov UK website is comprehensive & (usually) fairly up to date.

See what's involved, what is required each step of the way.
Then start to position yourself ahead of time so you can meet requirements in full leaving HO with no 'wriggle room'.

For example, need bills in joint names - set something up with a suitable supplier;
need professional referees - cultivate some professional contacts;
need a certain English proficiency - get started at night school;
need to demonstrate good character - don't jump a red light (etc etc);
- whatever it may be set it up ahead of time so it's ready when you need it

Understand that by definition HO is a heavy-weight, procedure-bound, legalistic and rules-bound organisation.
Yes the rules (& fees) can & do change over time. Not everything can be planned for (& there will always be surprises from HMG) but a lot can be prepared.

Don't be reactive get proactive.
Good luck.

I know we will definitely be making sure this doesn't happen in the future. In respect of our current application if we submit the remaining documents we do have and write an explanation letter do you think this will be enough for the home office to grant an extension? This is worrying us both a lot as we genuinely live together with my parents and have done so ever since she was granted the first visa, we have a genuine relationship etc

Submit everything you can find to fill any significant gaps, including anything that has your names and post code. It doesn't have to be bills or official documents, even junk mail would be acceptable if you have nothing else. Do you have GP registration? Include a letter explaining your situation. It's positive that you've been given the opportunity to submit more information.

Thank you so much, yes we are both registered with our local GP and I will include something to this effect. I will definitely be explaining in a letter the situation.

I also have online credit card statements, pay slips, and utility bills that contain my address and cover the whole period. Can I print these and explain I signed up to electronic statements? Perhaps the bank ones can be stamped by my local Halifax to verify?

Regards

Print off any bill/statement you have and ask your issuing bank to sign & stamp your online statements. If you haven't been given a GP registration card or letter, ask your GP's surgery if they could give you any written confirmation. Don't worry, you should be fine.

Hi,

I have now submitted the additional documents required. I was wondering what timescales would be expected when submitting further documents to the HO?

Thanks
