Indian Passport Surrender - Emergency Contact - No commas or numbers allowed

Hi All,

I need some help with the online form please. The online application form for Indian passport surrender does NOT allow any number or special characters (even commas) when adding EMERGENCY CONTACT - NAME AND ADDRESS. Due to this issue, I'm unable to add the address since it has numbers and commas. Also note that there is now a new portal for the application, which is been rolled out for different consulates.

Can anyone who has recently applied for the passport surrender certificate help me with this? Did it allow you to use numbers and commas or did you not add the address for the emergency contact?

I'm applying from the UK in Manchester.

Mods, would you please be able to help with this? I will really appreciate your help. Neither HCI London nor CGI Birmingham are picking up the phone and VFS has said that they do not manage the online portal. It's managed by HCI.
