Date of the bank statements and payslips

Post by wxyuanilr » Fri Dec 27, 2013 5:53 pm

Hi,

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/polic ... ndix-fmse/ says

"2. In respect of salaried employment in the UK (except where paragraph 9 applies), all of the following evidence must be provided:

(a) Payslips covering:

(i) a period of 6 months prior to the date of application if the person has been employed by their current employer for at least 6 months (and where paragraph 13(b) of this Appendix does not apply);

(c) Personal bank statements corresponding to the same period(s) as the payslips at paragraph 2(a), showing that the salary has been paid into an account in the name of the person or in the name of the person and their partner jointly.

"

I wondered what "a period of 6 months prior to the date of application" means? Does it have to be the 6-month period immediately before the date of application?

I can send my payslips and bank statements covering July to December this year to my wife in her home country, but she might not be able to submit the application until around the 8th of February due to a delay in her passport application. I wondered if that would be deemed okay?

Given there'd be more than 30 day gap ... it would be advisable to wait and send them all once her passport application is complete.

If you are going to submit in Feb 2014, then ideally your 6 months wage slips and bank statements should be from August- Jan,rather than what you are proposing to do

The last bank statements generally should be no more than 28 days old at time of application.

Your last payslip and bank statement must be within 28 days of the application. The only way you can get around this is if you complete the form and pay (if you pay online) within 28 days then book biometrics appointment for a date once your wife has her passport.

If you cannot pay until the appointment you will have to send up to date documents closer to the time.

In this case, should I leave the 4th page of the SET(O) application form blank, or still fill in details of my credit card used for the payment?

The SET(O) application form is at http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... o04091.pdf

28 days? Is this specified somewhere on UKBA's website?

My latest payslip was issued on 26 Jan, and the corresponding salary was paid on 30 Jan, and then I ordered a formal bank statement, which arrived at my UK address on 14 Feb, and then I posted the payslip together with the bank statement to my wife in China using UPS, one of the fastest courier services. The documents should be with my wife on 20 Feb, but the visa application centre in Beijing do not accept appointment on 21 Feb and 24 Feb, so the earliest date she could submit the application would be 25 Feb. I wondered if that's okay?

FM-SE document outlining financial information required...

3.3.8.
Where Appendix FM-SE requires the applicant to provide specified evidence relating to a period which ends with the date of application, that evidence must be dated no earlier than 28 days before the date of application.
