Yes you can, provided you meet the 3 years residence requirement to apply as spouse of BC.

You should wait for your BRP card before you apply.

Apply for registration of a child under 18 as a British citizen

Post by AkilaSri » Wed Mar 20, 2019 3:17 pm

Dear Expert,

I am in process of applying Naturalization for my self and for my daughter.

Need below clarification on the online application form as its not clear whom should be referee for child.

Do i need to provide reference/referee details from school teacher for child as part of requirement or can i provide the same referee details who is part of my applications. Please advise.

Regards
Aki

The referees must have known the child for 3 years.

Usually HO requires the professional referee to be someone who is engaged with the child in a professional capacity.

Thanks for your response.

My child is studying year 1 and if i provide the 1st referee(professional ) from school , it wont cover full 3 years known period because she started nursery in that school in Sep 2016.

2nd Reference( Family Friend and Neighbor) able to cover for 3 known period but if i give both reference detail similar to mine, its able to cover 3 full year.

For myself its not an issue, both referee (Friend and Neighbor) knows me for more than 3 years and their job is IT consultant..

Please advise

Regards
Aki

Both should be ok for a small child. If HO is not happy with one, they will write to you and ask for another referee.
