Arrived at 2 months old - do I need to take LITUK & SELT test?

Post by Charmzz007 » Sun Feb 16, 2020 8:35 pm

My son is 19, he’s been in the UK since he was 2 months old, currently holding ILR which expires August 2020.
I’m only just applying for his citizenship. I have 2 questions:

1. Does he need to take a Life in the UK test?
2. Does he need to take the B1 SELT Test?

He is on a gap year, having successfully completed college.

Many thanks.

1. Yes.

2. Yes.

By gap year, what do mean exactly? Travelling abroad for a year, in the UK or ........?

Has he got a university degree in the UK (studying for one does not count)? "College" can mean a variety of things in the UK.

Taking this time off to figure out what he wants to study (he's not travelling, still job hunting)

No university degree, he's on a gap year before starting university and by college, I mean he's did his A Levels. Thanks

Gap year in this case is irrelevant. No requirement to work or be studying for citizenship.

He needs to do the HO approved B1 test from an approved test provided and the LIUK test. A levels is not sufficient and does not exempt him.
