child benift while one parent on visa flr( m)

Hi ,
I am on ILR and my wife is on Dependant visa FLR(M). our daughter born in uk and British citizen . if we apply for child benefit, will that affect my wife visa extension .The child benefit application form ask for both parents details .

my daughter is 2 years old now ,i didnt know about the benefit and never applied .will i get paid back dated ?

No effect on spouse visa provided you claim and not your wife.

It can be backdated only by 3 months.

Child Benefit must be in the name of the person who can take Public Funds and it will then not affect your wife's visa status. They ask for your partner's details because there is an earnings cap of 50k for that benefit, that either parent might meet.

Child Benefit can only be backdated for 3 months, if you meet the requirments to have this benefit 3 months ago.
