Dependant ILR

Post by asiklk » Tue Aug 12, 2025 8:34 am

Dear Friends,

I came to the UK as a Skilled Worker in January 2020 and was granted settlement (ILR) in December 2024.
My wife and daughter arrived in the UK on 14 September 2020 and will soon complete their 5 years of residence. I am planning to apply for their ILR at the end of this month (I understand we can apply up to 28 days before the qualifying date). Their current visas are valid until January 2026.

I am still working for the same company and in the same position, and I have no plans to change anything until my family are settled. However, I am a bit concerned about the new immigration rule changes being discussed.

My Skilled Worker details:

SOC code: 2136

Salary: £41,200

Hours: 35 hours/week

Job title: System Tester

I would like to clarify a few things:

The current going rate for my SOC code is the same as my salary (£41,200), while the lower going rate is around £34,5xx. Can we use la ower rate for dependent ILR

Is my salary enough for my wife and daughter to get ILR? I have read that the minimum salary for Skilled Workers is increasing to £41,700, but also that salaries are calculated based on a 37.5-hour week. Will that cover me?

Or is it the case that dependent ILR is not tied to the sponsor’s salary at all once the main applicant has settled?

If anyone could also share a dependent ILR document checklist, that would be really helpful.

Thank you in advance.

Your salary is not relevant to their ilr application.

You are NOT a sponsored employee as you have ILR. As you have been advised, your dependants ILR has nothing to do with your employment status now. There is no finical requirement at all for them and they settle simply when they are eligible.

Make sure to read this as they need it: All you need to know about cohabitation evidence
