Evidence Needed For Spouse FLR(M)

Post by Barnatistuta » Thu Jul 04, 2019 7:52 pm

I've just got a few questions regarding the proof needed for my wife's FLR(M). We fulfil all the language, financial etc requirements. I'm just worried about the proof of relationship, cohabiting address and house ownership parts.

1. How many proof of address documents are needed? Are there any documents we shouldn't submit? We only have bank statements and utility bills with both of our names on, but we have lots of other letters etc with her or my name only on. Would the latter still count as proof since they're at the same address?

2. I already proved that ours is a subsisting relationship when I applied for our children's British passports. Is there any way to link that application from 7 years ago to this FLR(M) application? Or do I still need to provide more photos?
Do the photos have to be in physical form or electronic? Is there a rough number for how many I should submit?

3. I own our house. What sort of proof of that is needed? A copy of the title deeds? The original? Or is the letter from the solicitors saying the purchase is complete enough?

4. Finally, I have just read about these UK VCAS service points where you can take your original documents, instead of sending them via post. Sounds great! However, all the 'core centres' are miles from me. Can you go to the 'enhanced service points' for free? Or are they only available as part of the paid-for Premium package?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

1. Yes it can be in joint or individual names.

2. No there is not, British passport is completely different to FLR(M) visa extension. You don't need photos though.

3. Title deeds and mortgage statement if applicable.

4. You can choose any service at UKCVAS you want. Most are a fee, very few a free.

Thanks for your reply CR001.

How come I don't need photos? I thought I had to prove it was a 'subsisting relationship'? Or is this not needed for a spouse FLR (M)?

Original title deeds? Or copy?

Is there a list anywhere of how much the UKCVAS services cost? Do they tell you how much it will cost before you choose that option or the old-style process? I went to the Sopra Steria website and it didn't mention anything about the services available to applicants.

Not needed for FLR(M) as presumably you are BOTH living together in the UK. You need 2 years evidence in both names as proof of cohabitation for subsisting relationship.
Original title deeds? Or copy?
Nothing is posted to HO. Everything is scanned and uploaded now.

How much it costs depends on the service and type of centre you choose.

Do I need the £3 copy of my title deeds available from the Land Registry? Or the 'guaranteed' HM Land Registry Official Copy? Or does it not matter?

Thanks ever so much for answering all my questions.

Does it matter if the Council Tax bill is only in my name?
