Dear All,

Kindly advice regarding changing my email address in Home Office, the email which i gave at the time of screening interview is not accessible anymore as i forgot my password and not able to recover it...

Please let me know to whom / where should i contact to change my email address in Home office ???

Thank you ...
In my asylum case they never sent me any emails so I shouldn’t worry too much - it was only ever letters to my address. What I would do is send a letter to the asylum operations unit in Liverpool.

You shouldn't worry about that or like you have been told that migrant help acts as the interface between you and the Home Office. Contact migrant to do that for you. I think you should get a solicitor though they may not bother themselves with such minor work. The Home Office has all your contacts, I had substantive interview recently and when they wanted to send me the letter of invitation they called me on phone to confirm my address.

Dear,

Thanks again for your always detail answer / guidance, i called Migrant Help and they changed my new email address in their system, its sounds very good that HO is calling and confirming the postal address before sending any critical document ...

Kindly let me know that after screening interview how much time HO took to invite you for the
Substantive interview ???? Now a days HO taking around 7 to 8 months ....

Thanks again for your reply.

Have good days ahead .

Every case is different, so also is the case worker. I had my substantive interview 3 months after my screening interview. You can be invited anytime for substantive interview, the standard is that you can be invited two weeks after your screening interview despite the delays that are happening these days, your best bet will be to be ready at all times. I was given only one week notice for the substantive interview for some it could be 2 weeks.

It is formal to have a solicitor so they can help you prepare your case and they always know who to contact in the Home Office. I was told that with an asylum Application Registration Card(ARC) you can just walk into a law firm and get a legal aid solicitor(not every law firm does legal aid service), the ARC indicates that you are an Asylum seeker which implies you are not working and you cannot support yourself. The other option is to walk into a Migrant Centre and they will help you get a legal aid lawyer, I know of such centres in Hackney and Harringay Councils. They open once in a week and it is usually on a first come first serve basis. That means you have to go very very early to get a spot. Look up their details on the internet. You can also call the law centers closest to you.

Hello everyone .. please I need advice because I dobt understand what home office email me below.

It maybe helpful if I explain that whilst we aim to make timely decisions on all asylum claims, some claims may take longer if they are complex. I can confirm that we are aware of your asylum claim and we are striving to conclude your claim within the next four weeks, barring any unforeseen circumstances.

Can I know the meaning of .. barring any unforeseen circumstances.

Thank you.

Dear Moore
‘Barring unforeseen circumstances’ means anything that can stop or delay the process that them in Home Office were not aware of or is beyond their control.
God Bless.

Hi Senu,
Congratulations on acquiring British citizenship for your daughters, it certainly strengthens your case, do you mind sharing your experience doing S3 stateless applications? Your history including the evidence you submitted in making the applications .This may help or inspire others wanting to go through the same route. Thank you, wish you all the best of Luck and hope you get your stay soon.

Dear,

Really thnx a-lot for your detail reply, much appreciated and sorry for the late reply because of Flu, i called Citizen Advice centre and they gave me the number of Luton Law Centre to seek the Legal Aid Solicitors but their slot is full for legal aid at the moment, however, i managed and took the appointment on coming Friday with one of the Solicitor in Luton, they are dealing in legal aid cases, i will update you accordingly ....

Kindly advise that i will not pay anything to Solicitor and they will get their Fee from HO or UK Government ????

Have a very good day / weekend...

As an asylum seeker you’re entitled to legal aid. So they won’t charge you any money. Unless if you have been refused to appeal. In which case you wait 6 months, then you’re eligible for legal aid again, then do fresh claim in Liverpool.

Do you know what is required if one has been called for an interview in Liverpool after submitting a fresh claim? Does one have to mention the issues that were refused in the first claim?

Hello Dear,

Hope u r fine and doing well, i m living in Saint Albans but i checked the Solicitor’s list on HO website, none of the Solicitor is dealing here in Asylum and immigration, that is why i has to contact in Luton which is the next near by location for me.

Can u guide me regarding the transportation expenses if i can claim for reimbursement ??? to go now for an appointment on Friday and later for any other work with the Solicitor....

Please note that i am still waiting for the decision from HO on my Asylum Support section 95 application, as per Migrant Help, they sent my papers to HO on 21st January 2020.

Thanks a-lot for ur always help and cooperation.

Have a very good day.

Best Regard’s .....
