How to renew my Residence Permit

Hello,

Im Canadian, currently living in the UK under a 'Spouse/Partner Leave to Enter' residence permit. My permit will expire in 6months and I'm confused on what to do next? I have been living in the UK for two years...... is the next step to renew my residence permit???? If so what form do I use....??

Sounds like you will need to apply to extended your visa. Generally recommended that you apply within the 28 days prior to your current expiry date so the residency requirements for ILR will eventually be met. You can apply online for further leave to remain (FLR) using the link provided from the website below, which also has an overview of the requirements you will have to meet.

One must complete 60 months minus 28 days on a spouse visa to qualify for ILR.

Hello...... yet again I'm confused

I am currently living in the UK with my British husband and my Residence Permit 'Spouse/Partner Leave to Enter' will expire on 01-05-2020

I was advised to complete the FLR(M) form.... but Ive come to complete the form and am confused on if I am on the 2year route or the 5year route......

My visa acceptance letter does not state this is simply states I have permission to be in the UK (known as Leave to Enter) as SPOUSE/CP - Spouse /CP of from 01 Aug 2017 - 01 May 2020

and advice on how to find this out or clear up this confusion is appreciated.

5 year route. Any spouse visa issued on or after 9th July 2012 is the 5 year route under Appendix FM. There is no longer a 2 year route option.
