FLR (M) Visa for Spouse & child

Post by KKPP99 » Wed May 27, 2020 8:08 pm

Hi There,

I am on ILR and my wife and child who was born outside the UK are currently on ILR dependent visas expiring in Jul 2020.

I have a few questions with regards to the dependent visa extension (2nd 2.5 yr extension) for my wife and child.

- Is FLR (M) the right form for my wife and child for visa extension
- How many months validity should their passports have while applying for for the 2nd extension within the UK (My child's passport expires in Jan 2021 - is this ok ?)
- Does my wife need to renew the UK NARIC certificate for her university proof from 2.5 yrs ago or is the old one still valid ?

Thanks in advance for the responses.

Thanks,
Kirthi.

1. Yes
https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... form-flr-m

2. Passport should at least be valid on the date of application.

3. You might get mixed opinions or might see few approvals but safest will be to get it reassessed under naric red route.

Thanks for the response, what is the uk naric red route ? Is it a re-confirmation from uk naric based on the approval last time.

Thanks,
Kirthi.

Red route is a NARIC product through which you will get comparability report & English proficiency letter to meet the English language requirement. Read about it in more detail here:

FLR(M) - cohabitation documents

Post by KKPP99 » Sat Jun 20, 2020 7:13 pm

Hello all,

My wife and daughter have been in the UK for almost 2.5 years. They are now due to apply for FLR (M) visa begging of July 2020, we will be applying by post. I believe I have all the necessary documents to submit with the application from a finance, English language and accommodation (own property) perspective.

My question is regarding the co habitation documents required for last two years. I have water, energy, HMRC, council tax and bank statements for the last two years on my name but as my wife is a home maker and has not worked in the UK since she came over she has got next to none documents on her name. If only I had known about this rule I would have transferred some of the utilities to her name long ago.

The only documents that she has got are from the NHS - first registration with the NHS dated Oct 2017 and other letters from the NHS as she gave birth to our second baby Aug 2019. She does not have an individual bank account or a joint bank one with me as she uses by debit cards and none of the utility bills are to her name as I pay for all.

Not sure how this might effect our application for extension. I can possibly change some of the utilities to her name and open a joint account in the next week but not sure if that will help.

Can anyone please advise ? Thanks in advance.

KK.

No postal applications anymore. This will be done online. No hard copy documentations posted to HO, they are scanned and uploaded online.

That is one of the irretrievable mistake which can't fill the gap retrospectively because cohabitation evidences must be from at least 3 different sources covering the last 2 years. Are you really sure that she hasn't received anything in her name apart of utility bills/bank statements? How about voter registration form, NINO notification, any letter from council & any govt authority or even any marketing/promotional offers letters from retailer/service providers etc.

Thanks for the reply.

I do realise that I need retrospective evidence for the last 2 years. My wife does have a couple of letters address to her from the GP (we had a baby in Aug 2019) and also voter registration form - no other promotional offers or letters as she uses my accounts to shop online/instore. I will include the letters that I have but that won't cover the 6 sources of evidence needed.

I will mention the reasons why my wife does not have enough evidence in the application cover letter and that's the most I can do for now.

Do you know how this might have impacted visa decisions in the past ? Please advice if known or anything else I can do.

Thanks,
KK
