Application Type : FLR(M) — Switch from "fiancee" visa, first 2.5-year leg of 5-year route to ILR
Application Submitted on: 20 March 2019
Postal or In Person Application: Online application, in-person Sopa Steria biometrics/documents appointment (expedited/priority service, whatever they're calling it now)
Payment taken: 20 March 2019
Biometrics Enrolled : 1 April 2019
Document Submitted on: 1 April 2019
Acknowledgement Received: 20 March 2019 (when I submitted actual application)
Additional Documents Requested on (if any): None
Date of Decision: 1 April 2019
Decision: Granted
Decision Letter Received on: 4 April 2019
BRP Card Received on: 3 April 2019 (yeah I got the BRP before the actual decision letter)

Total Time Taken: Two weeks from online application to receiving my BRP

Quite impressed with the new system. Easy to keep track of and upload supporting documents, my documents were reviewed for readability/file type/category a few days before my appointment and the biometrics appointment went very smoothly. Worth the extra money for the expedited decision as I'll make the money back and then some by being able to start working earlier. The only reason it took two weeks is because I couldn't get a Sopra Steria appointment any earlier. The decision itself after the appointment was FAST.

We didn't pay for priority so very impressed with the super efficient turnaround for the so called standard service. Chose to post documents using the old system because there is no convenient sopra steria centre for us.

Application Type : FLR(M) - Extension
Application Submitted on: 25th March 2019
Postal or In Person Application: Online (new service) - Docs scanned and uploaded as PDFs
Payment taken: 25th March 2019
Sopra Steria Appointment: 27th March 2019 - paid £60 extra for local appointment in Southampton
Biometrics Enrolled : 27th March 2019
Document Submitted on: 27th March 2019 (at Sopra Steria Appt)
Acknowledgement Received: N/A - verbal confirmation of application being sent at appointment
Additional Documents Requested on (if any): None
Date of Decision: 4th April 2019
Decision: Granted
Decision Letter Received on: 9th April 2019
BRP Card Received on: 10th April 2019
Total Time: less than 3 weeks

I should state that I did not pay the extra £600 for priority service. I only paid an extra £60 for a local appointment. The new system was incredibly easy to use; I followed the instructions provided and labeled all of my documents very obviously when I uploaded them. I couldn't believe how fast they were!

Application Type: FLR (M) First Extension within the UK.

Application paid and submitted online: 9 Jan 2019

IHS paid: 9 Jan 2019 ( IHS was £600 until 8 Jan  )

Supporting Documents: Scanned and uploaded online 2 days before biometric enrolment.

Biometric Appointment: Croydon Sopra Steria (extremely helpful and friendly people). Free appointment.

Biometric Enrolled: 18 Feb 2019
(Yes, long gap. I was under the impression that I could enrol biometric at any later date after online application and wasn’t aware of 15 working days limit.I booked an appointment after online application submission however chose an appointment date for a far future date matching my husband’s annual leave so that we both could attend the appointment together. Then I was sent a reminder after 15 working days that I now had 10 working days to enrol my biometric.Luckily 18 Feb was within this 10 working days limit.)

Visa expiry date: 11 March 2019

Acknowledgement Receive: Absolutely none!

Additional Documents: None

Decision letter received: 10 April 2019 via email
(I kept waiting for the postman to drop a letter all this time  )

Date on decision letter: 10 April 2019

Decision: GRANTED

BRP received: 12 April 2019

Total time taken after biometric: 7 weeks 3 days

Good luck to everyone waiting for a decision.

Happy with extra payment of super priority - got what I wanted.

Good luck to you all.

Application Type: FLR(M) - First time towards 5 years Partner Route.
Application Submitted on: 24/02/2019.
Postal or In Person Application: Postal.
Application deferred for further checks (in person app): None.
Acknowledgement Received on (for postal app): 29/03/2019 (received 03/04/2019).
Biometric Letter Received (for postal app): 24/02/2019 (automated email).
Biometrics Enrolled on (for postal app): 26/02/2019.
Additional Documents Requested on (if any): None.
Decision of Application: Granted :D .
Date of Decision: 15/04/2019.
BRP Card Received: 18/04/2019 (DX delivery guy arrived 17/04/2019 but I was out).

I did not pay £600 for the Premium service as there was no appointment available anywhere in England for 45 days when I submitted my online application. Should have chosen a Sopra service, as people who did it got their decision within 3 weeks, while I had to wait 7.5 weeks.

Thankfully the Home Office finished processing before Good Friday, and so I don't have to wait until after Easter Monday.
