How late you can apply for ILR :)

Post by sme01 » Sun Feb 27, 2022 8:03 pm

Hi,

I know it sounds bit strange :) as most of the applicants want to know how early they can apply for ILR, just want to know is it ok if you apply for IRL at the time of expiration of your current souse visa (of course before end). is there any negative impact if you submit your ILR application let say a week before expiry date of your spouse visa ?

Thanks

No it makes no difference. If you meet the requirements you will get it, simple as that.

Hi,

Can some please confirm how much time you can get to submit your documents after applying for ILR Set(M) Application.

Thanks

ILR Application - Expired NICOP (ID Card)

Post by sme01 » Tue Apr 05, 2022 6:28 pm

Hi,

Just encounter an issue while applying online. there is question "Do you have a valid national identity card?"
I clicked 'Yes' and then i need to enter ID number and issue and expiry date. unfortunately it has expired couple of months ago and online form doesn't accept expiry date in past so i can't continue.
i can renew ID car but it will take at least couple of weeks. but I need to apply for ILR within a week :(
Any advice what can I do ?
Passport is valid, its just ID car(provided by country of origin) which has expired

Topics merged. It is not necessary to start a new topic with each question.

Say no. A foreign ID card is irrelevant in the UK for ilr

Thanks CR001,

would that ok ? as we have ID card but saying NO as its expired? I understand that it may be irrelevant for ILR but not sure what its impact would be.
is there a way of getting advice from home office anyway ?
has anyone else gone through the same situation ?

Thanks

Do you own or rent your home?

Post by sme01 » Fri Apr 08, 2022 10:06 am

Hi,

quick question....
Do you own or rent your home?

Applicant doesn't owns or rent, sponsor rent the property,
what should we select, I won, I rent or Neither own or rent ?

If we select Neither then what should be the answer to "Who provides you with accommodation"?

If we select "I rent" then it says:

"You only need to provide this evidence if:
you are responsible for some housing costs such as rent, mortgage or council tax"

Does it mean if applicant is not responsible for housing cost then we don't need to provide housing cost evidence ? but below check box is mandatory and cannot continue without ticking it.
can someone please advise

I will provide:
Proof of property ownership from the owner of the property you live in, such as a mortgage statement
Copy of an ID document of the owner of the property you live in, such as a passport
Letter signed by the owner of the property you live in stating that you have permission to live there

If you have a tenancy agreement, it is obvious that you RENT.

Hi CR001

Yes I(sponsor) rent but not the applicant.

so still confused...
What should be the answer of this question:
Do you own or rent your home ? I rent or Neither own or rent(as applicant is not renting) ?
