Yes, I am seeing couple of friend who just applied last month and all of them got e-vetting form.
I have applied in Feb 2022, only got the acknowledgement in July and after that nothing. This is ridiculous...how new people got e-vetting so quick ??
Applied in Dec '21, no eVetting either. Let's see what June ceremony holds.

Hi

I applied in May and also have not as yet received an acknowledgement.

What email address did you use ?. I emailed INISOireachtasMail@justice.ie also mid January but have only received back an acknowledgement of my email. Which took them a week. Nothing further.
This one seems to be aimed to receive and respond to TD enquires; let us know if your attempt of reaching out to them via it was successful.
Hi,

After a week received following:-

"On behalf of the Minister for Justice, I wish to acknowledge receipt and thank you for your correspondence dated 13th January 2023."

No further communications received. :(
[/quote]

Hi,

Sorry, ignore above answer. Somehow missed the following. Only found it when doing a search
Thank you for your recent correspondence to the Minister for Justice, Mr Simon Harris T.D. The Minister has asked me to respond to you on his behalf.

The Citizenship Division within this Department has advised that a letter of acknowledgement issued to xxxxxxx from their office on August 2022, with an application fee receipt enclosed.

As advised in the letter, applications are strictly dealt with in chronological order that they are received and due to the high volume of applications that are received processing times can be up to 18-23 months.

It is open to xxxxxxto contact the Citizenship Division at citizenshipinfo@justice.ie for an update on her application at any time, ensuring to quote her reference number (xxxxxxxxxxxx) on all correspondence.

I trust this is of assistance.

This letter is a blatant lie! Why are people who applieg last month getting evetting already, yet those who applied in mid-2022 haven't?!? You need to ask Simon Harris!

Did you physically receive the acknowledgement letter? Because they informed me by email that they sent out the acknowledgement letter in November and attached a pdf of it but I actually never received it.

Hi

No never received the letter. Above reply from INISOireachtasMail@justice.ie. Unfortunately that reply went into my spam folder. Important thing, they started working on the application in August 2022.

Did anyone got the e-vetting letter? I see in the 2022 timeline post that most of us only received the acknowledgement letter so far. DO you know how long does it usually take from acknowledgement to e-vetting? Thanks

I believe since 2023, they have changed their process. Seems that they request the evetting early in the process. I do not believe applications will be processed quicker because of this.

It's disgraceful that people are waiting 12-18 months for e-vetting if they applied in 2021 and 2022, when people who applied in 2023 are getting e-vetting in days to weeks! WTF is the delay with getting it done for 2021 and 2022 applicants if it can be done for 2023 applicants so easily. What is INIS up to?!?

I have been wondering the same.
Could it be that the idea is to speed up dealing with applications?
If 5% of naturalisation applications fail e-vetting then it might make sense to make that one of the first stages.
That way they won’t waste time checking applications that are going to fail anyway and they will reduce their workload by 4% or so.
I’ve no idea if as many as 5% fail e-vetting or if those passing would need to go through e-vetting a second time due to the delays in processing applications.
Others may know whether such a scenario makes sense.

They are supposed to process applications in chronological order. If they can send out e-vetting so quickly for 2023 applications, why can't they do the same for 2022 and 2021 applications. I smell a rat!

Take a chill pill and calm down. 2023 doing eVetting first doesn't mean they will get approvals before 2021 nor 2022 applicants. They are just sending the requests upfront. Till the estimated 19 months (or 23 months for some) passes, no one will do anything. You will get the default "we are working on your application" mail. If the estimated time passes, you can send a letter to them via a solicitor and ask for a result of your application.

Yelling, shouting, writing to TD won't make any changes, but still feel free to do it. No one cares nor takes any action before 23 months passes. And yes I do agree it's long time to wait and it's exhausting but nothing can be done about it.

1. Because if they exceed the average processing times mentioned in the acknowledgment letter, people will threaten the department with taking JR way, which some people did. There will always be some cases that will take longer time. Like there are still cases from 2020 that doesn't have result. But for most people they try to not exceed the average processing time.

2. There is a rumour that they changed the system in 2023 applicants. Before 2023, they requested eVetting as last step of the application, in 2023 they just ask people app front. Majority of 2023 applicants didn't get eVetting even thou they filled the form. So I believe they will get eVetting at later time. They are just making applicants fill eVetting form upfront.

eVetting results are valid around for 6 months. In any case, if your eVetting is done and 6 months passed, they will most likely ask for another one as there might be change in circumstances (like commited a crime since last check etc). That's why few people got asked to do eVetting again.

The above is just my own observation, nothing official.

1. Just because they exceed the average processing times for some people, doesn't mean they won't process the 2023 applications earlier/before the 2022 ones. They are not mutually exclusive. What percentage of people take the JR route? It is an expensive and time-consuming option, and many applicants don't have the time nor money for it.

2. Where is this "rumour" from? Still doesn't explain why they are not sending e-vetting to 2022 applicants.

1. What the sense to process the queue from the end? To keep all kpi in best shape the need first proceed with "older" applications, that logically correct and in line with the policies
2. Rumors are going form real experience of people you may talk around/someone has mates in department etc, overall if that gives the idea how they processes the application + some insides from people how got answers on their FOI

What is INIS up to?!?
I’ve no idea if as many as 5% fail e-vetting or if those passing would need to go through e-vetting a second time due to the delays in processing applications.
Others may know whether such a scenario makes sense.
Just curious where can I get that stat?
If not available through searches I suppose you could try a Freedom of Information request and / or ask a TD to question the Minister for Justice?

1. So why are they processing the 2023 applications faster. Maybe the KPI is not just how many approved, maybe it is that they are just awaiting sign off by the Minister. Which is what they will be once e-vetting done.

1. How do you know it doesn't mean they won't get approvals before 2021 and 2022 applicants?

2. If it is so easy and quick to send e-vetting to 2023 applicants, why don't they do it for 2021 and 2022 applicants?
