Hi lucidj, please has there been any acknowledgement from the department of justice since you got involved with a solicitor.i read online that the solicitor has a right to demand for a judgement on application once the application has gone beyond 12 months

Hi guys. I have good news. Yesterday 25 of September I got a positive reply to grant me permission to remain Stamp 4 on the basis of marriage to Irish citizen. I applied on 21 May 2017, so I was waiting for 16 months. Now a small advise to all of you waiting - go to your local TD and book an appointment. They can help you speed up the process.

Marks2017 , go and book an appointment now. I booked an appointment while waiting for 14 months and I regret it as I could do it earlier. Rauli, before applying I was asylum seeker.

Congrats on your approval letter lucidj. I am still waiting on my decision. I am in the position as you but someone I know told me that it took him almost 3 months to get the passport back from the asylum office. You have to request it asap because there are delays as far sa I know

I am not going to withdraw my asylum appication as I still have a hope that it could have a positive outcome but I sent my stamp 4 letter to my lawyer and he sent it to the asylum office to request my passport back. Hopefully they will give it back to me. Anyway, good luck to every one and thanks for sharing your experiences. This process was no joke .

Hello. I have a stamp 4 permission letter but my passport is currently with one of the departments of the government(IPO). Has anyone managed to get their residency card without having their passport stamped yet? I have an appointment with the GNIB to get my stamp 4 but I dont know if they will give it to me without a passport .

im sorry but without passport their is no way you will get your residency card
you will only waste your and INIS time better cancel your appointment so someone else could use the slot and do not make an appointment until you have your passport in hand.
