How to apply for spouse visa

Post by ashab174 » Mon Apr 29, 2019 8:11 pm

Hi all

I am wanting to apply for my spouse visa application for my husband. He is based in Pakistan and I want to apply for a spouse visa but i'm unsure on how to do this myself. I have all my documents but not sure how this online application works?

I am a British born citizen and my husband is from Pakistan

How do I submit my documents and do we have a guide on how to do this?

Any help appreciated

Thanks

What documents have you gathered? If you list, members will be able to advise if they’re sufficient or not.

According to members personal experience now the procedure to submit the supporting documents has been changed. Now sponsor should visit the vfs centre in UK for scanning his documents instead sending through post to Sheffield. See link

Ok thanks so much all this information is very helpful.

Another question do I have enough information or is more required? Also I would assume if I need to go to a vfs centre I would all the documentation in England

Proving your income on spouse application

Post by ashab174 » Tue Apr 30, 2019 11:57 pm

As a minimum requirement it says that you must have £925 in savings.
I have consistently kept that amount in my ISA account but my current account has less than.
I intend on submitting both my current and ISA accounts.
Would my application be rejected because I have less than 925 in my current account even if I more than amount in my ISA?

Where have you seen that you must have £925 in savings :?: This is for a PBS Dependant visa and from your other posts it seems that you're applying for a Spouse Settlement visa :!:

Oh right so this does not apply to spouse settlement visa? I may have just been reading incorrect.
As long my income is above 18,600 it shouldn’t affect anything?

No it does not apply to spouse visa.

You only need to prove you meet the £18600pa income.

Hello,

That is correct as as per CR001's above post.

It's when you don't meet the £18,600 minimum threshold that's when you need serious amount of savings.

Hello,

I don't know about VFS Global Service, others can suggest.

Have you or someone on your behalf taken the Urdu Marriage certificate to the Union Council in Pakistan and had it registered there? If so, do you have the Marriage Registration Certificate which is in Urdu on the right and English on the left with you and it's translation?

You need around 20 photos to be on the safe side. Photos must show both of you together and some of these need to be photos of your wedding day.
