Tier 2 Dependent accommodation requirement?

Post by Alto544 » Tue Jan 16, 2018 11:16 pm

Hi,
My wife is currently doing an out of country Tier 2 dependent visa application.
Is it necessary to provide a tenancy agreement? I'm currently on a monthly rolling tenancy with my last fixed term agreement having lapsed in April 2017. The agreement states that at the end of the fixed term the tenancy will change to a monthly one. Would they accept this as evidence seeing as the document is quite old (dated November 2016)?
Also, I'm currently living in shared accommodation, will this make it more complicated?

Thanks for your time.

The tenancy agreement you have is fine.

If you are in shared accommodation, you likely need an inspection report to prove the property is not overcrowded.

Hi CR001 is tenancy agreement for the UK mandatory for tier 2 general dependent application, as you said if sharing inspection report is required, whom to approach in that case?

Can you please stop tagging your question onto other members topics. It is considered rude and is unfair to the OP. It also creates confusion.

Thank you CR001.

1) To clarify, is the tenancy agreement a mandatory requirement or something that's good to include?

2) If so, can a letter from the landlord be used instead of having to get an inspection report for overcrowding?

Thanks again.

I don't believe it is mandatory, but you must be able to satisfy HO that you can adequately maintain and accommodate your dependents without overcrowding.

A letter should be fine.
