UKVI wants to visit my workplace and interview me

Post by Jan007 » Wed Mar 28, 2018 5:23 pm

Hi Everyone,

I applied for ILR after 5 years under tier 2. I went for Premium service but they did not give decision on the same day and told me that they need to further investigate. It was some salary issues. I send them some documents like payslips after making the correction in my pay with explanations from accounts department and the Solicitor as well.

They visited my work place few days back but unfortunately i was not in that they. They have given us a date when they would be coming to see me at workplace. I am really worried now.

Has anyone gone through same experience. What kind of questions they would ask. I will really appreciate if someone can guide me.

Thanking in advance.

It was some salary issues.
What salary issues exactly? Did you not meet the requirement for ILR and you had a sudden large increase shortly before applying?

Payroll dept paid less by for last 2 years by mistake. I found out only when case officer told me during the appointment because the P60 did not match with COS.

Next day company paid me the outstanding amount and we send a letter from company and solicitor explaining that it was an admin error. Now they want to interview me.

Have you got a list of questions they will ask me please ?

What was the difference in your gross pay for 2 years versus what was stated on the CoS??

What is the SOC??

Around 2500 in total for 2 years which is not much. COS is the certificate of sponsorship. It has details like your salary and job descriptions. The Salary from COS did not match P60.
I think this is not the issue at the moment. The main issues is they want to interview me and i might get nervous.

And you never notice you were being under paid for 2 years?? Presumably your contract of employment also stated £37k?

Why are you going round and round. My simple question was what are they going to ask during interview ?

It isn't common for applicants to be interviewed.

I will leave others to comment further then.

Good luck.

when HO comes to visit your work place then we can expect they will ask question about your employment. Be prepare to answer them about your work including from recruitment procedure to your day to day work. Also make sure your attendance/leave records are correct and your HR should have company handbook and organisation chart.
good luck

Looks fishy to me. Who doesn't notice they've been paid 2k short. What sort of reputable company with enough nous to sponsor Work Permits get a salary wrong.

They usually ask about job details..job related activity ..your immigration history and all. They will try to find out ur job is genuine otr not! I face the interview as one of my colleagues ILR was pending and they interviewed everyone who was under the T2 visa .
Anyways I have a question like why do you have to submit p60? it is not recommended..or they asked you for that?

You will almost certainly be asked the same question that CR001 and Wanderer have mentioned.
