UK Visa for wife financial requirements

Post by John43 » Mon Feb 26, 2018 6:58 pm

As a director of a company which takes a wage of £8160 and the rest as dividend thru the course of the year of around £10-12K what is the financial requirement for limited company directors?

I know its £18,600 for employed people gross tax.

For a director is less right as the tax and national insurance is different for a director especially if taking dividend or do they not care about that?

Anyone can any ideas that would be great.

Okay thanks for that.

So I just need to show wages + dividend for the year and it must be £18,600 min whatever tax is due doesn't matter.

And also just to confirm it would be my most current self assessment tax return which I would use to prove that right

Proof of income for director

Post by John43 » Thu Apr 26, 2018 1:06 pm

So I need to earn £18,600 for the financial requirements for the UK spouse visa - which I can as I earned this with a combination of wages and dividend in the last tax year which just finished. But, I am a little worried as most of the money went directly into my bank so I can provide that as proof but about £3000-4000 was paid to me from my company is cash, will that be a problem as it didn't go into my personal bank account?

I will have proof of self assessment showing wages and dividends over £18,600, can show the money paid to me thru company accounts, can show wages P60 and Dividend certificate and also get accountant to verify amounts.

Will that be enough? Anyone know this answer, as I struggled to get any real answers from Google.

Thanks.

Hello,

As long as you can show 18,600 through the self assessment I think there shouldn't be any problem.
