This SOC is only a shortage job if all of the below apply, including being a qualified company. For non shortage, full and proper RLMT is required.

4. In this Appendix “qualifying company” means a company which:
(a) has obtained permission from the Home Office to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship in respect of the relevant job on the basis that the job is included on the Shortage Occupation List and the company:
(i) is licensed as a sponsor for the purposes of Tier 2 of the Points Based System,
(ii) at the time of obtaining such permission, employs between 20 and 250 employees (inclusive), or employs fewer than 20 employees and has provided a letter from the Department for International Trade, confirming that the Department has been working with the company and supports the application in relation to its trade or investment activity,
(iii) is not more than 25% owned by a company which has one or more other establishments in the UK and one of those establishments employs more than 250 employees; and
(iv) has not been established in the UK for the purpose of supplying services exclusively to a single company or company group in the UK; and
(b) will have no more than ten Tier 2 (General) Migrants working for it at any one time in jobs to which the requirement to be employed by a qualified company applies, if all Certificates of Sponsorship in respect of such jobs lead to a grant of leave as a Tier 2 (General) Migrant.

2136 Programmers and software development professionals

Only the following jobs in this occupation code:

Senior developer employed by a qualifying company, where the job requires a person with a minimum of five years’ relevant experience and demonstrable experience of having led a team.

The following jobs in visual effects and 2D/3D computer animation for the film, television or video games sectors:

software developer
shader writer
games designer
The following jobs in the electronics system industry:
driver developer
embedded communications engineer

My application (30pt non everything) went under review around 26th September right before HO put the detail on their official website. it's still under review so far. does it mean my application goes into the October one straight away ? does anyone have the same issue ? thanks

After 10 months of refusals, a rescinded job offer, being reoffered the position and all around mess, I finally have received a COS on 33 Points, news came through on Monday, so lightning speed. This board has been very informative over the last year! Thanks to all those who run it!

This just means they have your COS but will only release it when you submit those two documents.

This is my first post in this forum.

I have been told by my sponsor that RCoS status is still pending. What does this mean? RCoS was applied this month with 32 points.

COS approved on 11th October. Haven't got any certificate or update regarding visa application after that. Any idea on how long does it take to receive the certificate? Thanks in Advance.

CoS approval and visa application are two separate things. Please do not ask visa application questions in this topic. For updates on the CoS, you need to speak to your sponsor.

RCOS approved. NON everything. 45 points.

I would like to thank each and every active, non active members and #moderator. Supported when needed. Knowing that i was not alone in this gave ability to go through this tough phase. It took 10 months to get the RCOS. And my employer, kudos and thanks to them that they did not give up on me bcz of rcos.

Does anyone know if there is a limitation on how much rcos a company could obtain in a year?
Since my company has been struggling to get the rcos even after the point being lowered from July, i am trying to outsource other company via headhunters. However they told me a lot of companies have run out of it thus out of consideration.
All of these left me in complete confusion.

Total number of certificates of sponsorship granted in October is 1595.
