Additional docs

Hi all

What type of additional docs are requested, and what would be a typical situation for them to be requested? A friend of mine has recently applied for a spouse visa, and has only just realised an older version of his wifes passport was used for the tb test, but then it was amended and the amended version was used for the application. We're hoping they'll request additional docs as opposed to rejecting it outright. Is that right?
