Child benefits document to be sent

Post by Hariharasankar » Mon Apr 13, 2020 10:03 pm

Hello All,

I have recently received ILR and planning to apply for child benefit. My daughter MN1 application is still in process (UKCAS locations are closed). I have below questions regarding documents to be sent.

> Do I need to send my Original or Photocopy of my BRP ?
Eventhough at the end of the CH2 form, it states that only Originals are accepted. I have the below note after questions regarding the immigration control
"Important note
Send a copy of your Home Office documents to us with this claim.
"

> I beleive Indian Passport of my daughter is not needed as she is born here

Thanks
Hari

Hi,

I spoke with Child benefit customer care and got answers for the below questions

>Original BRP is needed
> Passport is not needed

So currently I have sent only my BRP with the application. I will let you know how the application went once i receive any update from them

Hi all,

An update to my Child benefit application. I received my BRP card within a week.
I received my first payment with three weeks of my application. I have received the first payment only for 3 weeks i.e £ 63.15. Not sure why ?

Regards
Hari

Your payments are only from date of ilr on your brp. If that was roughly 3 weeks ago, then the payment is correct. You should now receive weekly payments.

Hi, Thanks for sharing the info, please can you confirm if you sent a prepaid envelope for documents to be returned since sending brp can be risky as it may get lost?
