Child born in UK - Query

Post by nihalalfred » Tue Aug 04, 2020 4:56 pm

Hi There,

I have a similar query. Appreciate your advise on the same.

I have 2 children, both born here in the UK (Daughter:2015 & Son:2019).

My wife & I are in the process of applying for our ILRs as we are both eligible. (Waiting for Super Priority Services to resume or use the standard service if it doesn't resume in September)

daughter currently has an Indian Passport & a dependent Visa (Tier 2 General) which is due to expire on 8-Oct-2020.

I haven't applied for an Indian passport or dependent visa for my son as we planned to `register` him directly for citizenship post our ILRs.

Due to COVID and the uncertainty in ILR processing timelines of our applications, wanted to know if my daughter's citizenship application will be effected as her visa expires in Oct'20 as there is a likely chance we would not get a decision on our ILRs before that date.

Thanks

1. Please do NOT tag your questions into other memebers topics.

2. No issue re daughter visa expiring. A UK born child has an entitlement to register as british and doesn't need a valid visa to do so.
